okay I haven't exactly rewired my brain yet, but it's gotten a little better that I can rant about random things in my post.
and I think nat is really happy with my title+quote. anyway moving on...
I think I watch far too many kiddie TV movies.
apparently yesterday my mum kinda banned me from the comp, so I went to watch tv while doing homework.
and for some reason I was watching Spectacular! i don't know why.
if you didn't know (which you most probably don't), Spectacular! is this Nickelodeon TV movie about this guy called Nikko who gets kicked out of his band for being a self-centered bastard. then some girl called Courtney convinces him to join her show choir group called Spectacular! and he agrees cos he needs the prize money to make his demo so some record company would sign him. and there was this guy called Royce who dumped her some time ago for another show choir group called Ta-Da cos apparently some bitch called Tammi 'stole him? and then Nikko's audition for some major record company falls on the same date as their finals blah blah blah.
and proof that that storyline is really cliche- at 10something I was flicking through the channels when my sister suddenly said she wanted to watch Go Figure which is a DCOM.
and apparently it's about this girl called Katelin who's a figure skater and gets a chance to go to this awesome school to become an awesome figure skater but her parents can't afford it so she goes on a ice-hockey scholarship. and she needs to cope with school and figure skating and ice-hockey which she completely sucks at. and at first the people on her team, which apparently are called the Buckston Eagles, are complete bitches to her but slowly she helps the team and she becomes friends with them, and apparently they were her first friends as all she had before were competition. and then the ice-hockey championships is on the same date as her figure skating finals.
there, the storylines are almost completely the same.
Self-centered protagonist- Nikko and Katelin. Check.
Joining something that requires teamwork cos it helps with your main solo passion- Nikko- show choir prize money for his big 'rock-star' demo. Katelin- ice-hockey scholarship so that she can train for figure skating. Check.
Bitchy Competition- Nikko/Courtney/Spectacular! against Royce/Tammi/Ta-Da. Katelin against some random bitches in the figure skating club. Check.
Clash of dates- Nikko-Demo for major record label/Show choir finals. Katelin- Figure skating finals/Ice-Hockey championships. Check.
Team not winning eventually but they "still had fun"- Spectacular for having someone who wasn't on the registered list(some ex-rockstar who was their teacher in-charge), Eagles for idontknowwhat.
Protagonist falling for someone on the team- Nikko/Courtney. Katelin/Spencer(the assistant coach for ice-hockey). Check.
there, Nickelodeon and Disney really really need to be more original.
and my sister was being bimbotic over the guy who played Spencer. Jake Abel or something. oh fyi Joyce, i think he's playing Luke in the movie adaptation of Percy Jackson.
that was a long rant about stupid things. what else did I want to rant about...
oh yeah, I think my brain is really screwed(oh wait we all know that already) and so are my eyes, but for some weird reason I think that the lead singer of Hoobastank looks like KevJumba.
okay I know most people most probably don't see a single bit of resemblance between them. that's why I said that my eyes are screwed.
and the last thing that I wanted to rant about was...
OH YAH. iPod Nano 5th Generation is out. with a video camera! okay not that I videotape alot but still it's cool. oh and it comes with a radio that you can pause and rewind and displays the song that the radio is playing so you don't use stupid money-extorting services like sms-ing in for the song names.
and its aluminum is -insert cheem term here which I forgot- so it's like, shiny.
and they have a built-in voice recorder. another feature I don't really use but who cares.
and VoiceOver. which basically means they verbally tell you the song name and artist if you want them to.
and just so that nat can go hyper, that system speaks Chinese and Korean too.
oh and yonghui, even though you don't want an iPod Nano, their VoiceOver is available in Japanese too.
Apple is awesome and you know it.
end of really long rant about random stupid things. excluding iPod Nano, that is.
